I promised my friend that I would make a post about Robin Thicke. I can't get enough of this guy, he's too sexy. I've been a fan of his music since he was sporting that long locks in When I Get You Alone. He made an album, The Evolution of Robin Thicke under Star Trak and he cut his long hair and he really matured. That album was great but Something Else was average. His new record, Sex Therapy: The Experience is really good. When he sings, you just want to melt because his voice is that sexy.

Love Me If You Dare or Jeux D'Enfants is one of the most well-done romantic films I have seen. I wish I could understand French that well because at the last 10 minutes of the film my subtitles gave up on me. Julien and Sophie's love sprung from a game of truth or dare since they were kids and it went on until they were adults. It's such a twisted love story. I love that in the ending, the director made it like an open-ended question where in you can choose to interpret your own ending -- there's the happy ending and the one that is more realistic.

But what I really love is that cute boy Thibault Verhaeghe who played Julien. He's too adorable.

Julien à 8 ans: Friends are like eyeglasses. They make you look smart, but get scratched and then bore you. Luckily, sometimes, you get super cool glasses. Me... I've got Sophie!

Beyonce's Video Phone Featuring Lady GaGa

I love the song, but the video not so much. There were some moments that Beyonce looked a bit uncomfortable. However, I really like the part where both of them danced. I just adore Lady GaGa! I just downloaded her new album, The Fame Monster and it sounds really good.

Miike Snow

There are so many good albums coming out. I can't believe I missed this and Little Dragon's Machine Dreams. I'm jumping on the Miike Snow bandwagon. Oh why did I skim over this group's talent before? I'm familiar with the band's name because every blog mentions them, it's only now that I fully appreciate this bands' pure talent. Swedish music rules!

Last.fm lists similar artists: Passion Pit and Discovery. Both very good bands, but Miike Snow is quite different. Less drum machine and auto-tune. They remind me of an upbeat Bon Iver. Too good. I will play this on repeat.

Typhoon Ondoy

Before, I never really paid attention to the victims of typhoons in the Philippines but when you are the victim of the current Typhoon Ondoy, you feel empathy for the past victims you've just ignored. I am still thankful, that my family and I are safe.

It was the scariest experience of my life. I thought the water would come up to the second floor. My mom and I were able to save some stuff like photographs, the appliances and some goods from my grandfather's store but everything else was flooded. My brother was stuck in Lasalle yesterday and he just came home today.

It started out with this. I really thought it wouldn't be worst than that. Taken 10:26 am.

But then it went inside our house, so we started turning off the electricity and putting the appliances on the 2nd floor. Taken 10:53 am.

Then by 3:15 pm. The water was almost at the neck-level. Notice the hood of the red car, the water was that deep.

These were the people trying to get home. Taken around 3:33 pm.

By 4:22, the water-level is going down. The red car was my marker.

The aftermath...

We spent the whole day cleaning our house. It's almost back to normal. I hope the classes resumes this Wednesday, I'm not in the mood to study.

To Kingdom Come is Passion Pit's new single. I love this song but I personally prefer Let Your Love Grow. The video, however, is really cute with all the birds flying in the background. I'm a sucker for blue skies, birds, balloons, buttons, cigarettes and lips. Weird but I find those fascinating.

Comments: Ra Ra Riot - Vampire Weekend connection. They make such a beautiful record that has the correct element of auto-tune and hip hop sounding beats. It's so much more than hip hop because they're not even rapping, the beat sounds like hip hop but everything else it's indie. It's a bit similar with Passion Pit that's why I am so pleased with it.

Gossip's Music For Men (June 19)
Favorite Tracks: Vertical Rhythm, almost all.
Comments: I'm a huge fan of The Gossip, they recently dropped the "THE" in their name but their sound is still the same. I love it so much. It's such a good record, Beth Ditto's vocals are way too amazing.

Failed my expectations
Ciara's Fantasy Ride (May 5)
Comments: She release the wrong first single (Never Ever, seriously?) and tried to compete with Beyonce's Single Ladies and failed at it. She recovers with songs like G is for Girl (A-Z) and Love Sex Magic which JT release earlier as a demo.

Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. (June 3)
Comments: The most annoying album ever. Auto-tune overload that makes my ears bleed. I simply hate it. Their energy for me died along with the death of auto-tune.

Jonas Brothers' Lines, Vines and Trying Times (June 12)
Comments: I didn't love it. I feel that they hurried it a bit and they didn't have a chance to evolve their sound. The only track that I really like is Turn Right which is very slow and so sweet.

I adore listening to music, everyone knows that. I promised my friends that I would post music something not mainstream but incredibly beautiful and something new and something really cheerful.

Personal Comments: It's weird I love the music of the hush sound but I dislike the new sound of Panic. I'm really frustrated at Panic because they changed, where are the clever lyrics of Ryan like the one from Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off and those danceable beats. What makes The Hush Sound better is the combination of Bob Morris and Greta Salpeter's vocals, just lovely.
